York’s Advanced Structural Imaging Facility

We have been appointed by Simpson York, the successful D&B tendering contractors, to develop the design of the University of York’s Advanced Structural Imaging Facility (formerly called the Integrated Information Facility).

This scheme, for which we have already secured detailed planning consent, provides space for the University’s structural biology research equipment including a new Cryo Electron Microscope.

Wolfson Atmospheric Chemistry Laboratory (WACL)

The extension of the Wolfson Atmospheric Chemistry Laboratory (WACL) was successfully handed over and is now being used by the researchers at the University of York.

The building not only extends the existing WACL but also links it to the York Plasma Institute (YPI) providing new laboratory space and research offices for both organisations. WACL and YPI are both leaders in their respective fields with their views often sought by the mainstream media. Externally the building has been designed to seamlessly continue the architectural language of the original WACL building and joining to the YPI with a recessive glass link.
